The Value Crisis

“Andrew gives me a new way
of looking at the world and
possibilities.  This gives me hope
for the future.”

Speaking to Environmental Groups

Andrew Welch is a Guest Lecturer to the Masters of Development Practice program at the University of Waterloo's School of Environment, Resources, and Sustainability.  He has a long history of active engagement and leadership to local environmental issue groups, including as the founding facilitator of an officially designated Transition Town in Erin, Ontario – part of the international Transition Town Network.  He is now on the Board of Directors for the esteemed Canadian Association for the Club of Rome.  (The Club of Rome's 1972 "Limits to Growth" report is considered pivotal to the modern environmental movement.)

As a result of his in-depth knowledge of the issues and challenges that such groups face, he is often called upon to present his unique perspectives on the work required to be done to inspire real change at every level from the individual to communities and society itself.  Perhaps more importantly, Andrew's extensive background in business as a management consultant and facilitator allows him to approach environmentalism with a solid feel for the views from both sides of most topics.

Among others, he has spoken (often with repeat engagements) to Canadian Association for the Club of Rome, Transition Guelph, Caledon Green TEA, the Guelph Resilience Festival, Transition Erin, and Transition Bay St. Margaret's (Nova Scotia).  Andrew speaks with passion, knowledge, and fresh outlooks accessible to all.

The Aanimad Framework - A New Perspective on Climate Change and Saving Humanity

Audience:  Environmental Groups

Andrew Welch's groundbreaking Aanimad Assertion on Climate Change presents a new and staggeringly important shift in how society must view and respond to Climate Change.  He puts it into the proper framework of ecological overshoot, and examines the root causes of our crisis.  Turning popular thought on its head, audiences come away with an opportunity to completely rethink the role of nature in our species continuance.

Andrew goes on to propose a revolutionary new strategy to tackle all of ecological overshoot, including our Climate Emergency - a strategy that is actually being discussed in the corridors of power right now, but for totally different reasons.  In other words, the possibilities are both powerful and realistic, working from a new paradigm that has been described by one journalist as “headsmackingly commonsensical”.

His original book, The Value Crisis, is a hit with book clubs all over, largely because caring readers are very keen to discuss the ground-breaking ideas that he introduces, explaining the root cause of some of the biggest challenges facing the planet.  Now environmentalists in both academia and on the frontlines of activism are beginning to take notice.
